Ride With Us!

Sweet Riders will offer one-day private lessons. We will focus on improving the riders existing skills, and adding some new ones. These private lessons will consist of instruction in the morning, a lunch break, then a guided instructional trail ride in the afternoon. A typical day will begin at 8:30, lunch at 12pm, then a ride from 1-3:00pm. The cost is ¥12,000 per person including insurance.

These clinics will cater to women only in order to build girl power. It is amazing to be able to feel the magic of learning and trying new skills with your female peers. We will focus on skills such as neutral position, ready position, bike body separation, straight line riding, climbing, descending, braking, shifting, basic front wheel lifts, 1/4 punch front wheel lift, manuals, slow speed cornering, switchbacks, wheelie drops and if time permits, high speed cornering.

For a day clinic, a typical day would look like this; 8:30-12:30 instructional skill work, 12:30-1:30 lunch break 1:30-3:30 an instructional group ride. For a two-day clinic it would look like this; Saturday from 8:30-12:30 we will have 3 skill sessions, 12:30-1:30 a lunch break, 1:30-3:30 an instructional group ride, 5-6pm a BBQ dinner,6-6:30pm prize giveaways, 6:30-7:30pm a maintenance session, 7:30-8pm sign up for the Sunday's skill sessions. Sunday from 9-12 we will work on the skill sessions chosen by the riders, 12-1 a lunch break, 1-3pm an instructional group ride, 3-3:30 evaluation form filling out time. Then it is time to close the camp and say good-bye until the next time!!

Prices will vary depending on the number of people and if it's a one or two day clinic. For example, for a day clinic; 2-3 people ¥8000, 4-6 ¥7000, 7-10 ¥6000. For a two-day clinic, including one night's accommodation, a BBQ, two days of instruction and group rides, and prizes from sponsors; 2-3 people ¥25000, 4-6 people ¥20000, 7-10, ¥18000. All prices include insurance. These prices are for our Aokiko/Hakuba location, if another location is desired the prices may increase.

Beginner’s Tour on MTB: Enjoy a foot bath and Italian Gelato
This tour is for a first time rider or beginner. The route will be mostly on the road and some on a trail similar to a flat walking path.

Tour Description:
The tour will start at Seventh Heaven’s Pension. A brief 15 minute introduction to simple braking and shifting on the bike will be given to ensure all participants safety on the bicycle. We will then ride a beautiful route through the lovely town of Hakuba. We will make a quick stop at the Happo Foot Hotspring and, on the way back, a stop at the Italian Gelato Shop. We will then finish again at Seventh Heaven Pension.

Tour Price:
5800 yen per adult , minimum 4 people, maximum 12 people.
4800 yen per child minimum 6 years old accompanied by a parent, to 12 years old
The price includes bike, helmet, and insurance.

Intermediate MTB Tour: Enjoy MTB trials and an optional visit to Obinata Onsen
This tour will be suitable for intermediate level riders. This means someone who has spent moderate time on a bike and has basic skills as well as, a moderate fitness level. .

2:00 – 4::00pm Afternoon Tour

Tour Description:
The tour will begin at Donguri Campsite and 15 minutes will be spent on a skills session to ensure all participants safety on the bicycle. We will ride the mini track course as a warm up and then continue to the Iwatake Single track trails. If time permits we will then play on the mini jump track. For those who are interested we will offer an optional tour to the Obinata Natural Hotspring , this will take an extra hour.

5800 yen per adult , minimum 4 people, maximum 12 people.

Upper Intermediate Tour by MTB: Enjoy a beautiful scenic ride around Aoki Lake.
This route will have some climbing on the road , both paved and gravel. It will be suited for riders who are use to riding their bikes at least three times a week and have a fitness level higher than average.

Tour Description:
This tour will begin at Sweet Riders Base located in San Osaka, Hakuba. We will start the climb up though the back routes of San Osaka ski hill. Then continue along to Aoki Lake. We will ride one lap around the lake taking in the breath taking views.. We will also make a stop at the Hime River origin source park. We will finish the tour at Sweet Riders Base.

Advanced MTB Tour: Enjoy Hakuba’s fine Minegata singletrack and downhill.
This tour will be suitable for advanced riders who know how to ride singletrack and have downhilling skills. There are berms, switchbacks, and the trails are steeper than most average mountain bike trails.

Tour Description:
This tour will begin at Seven Heaven’s Pension and have the option of riding up to the top of Minegata or a drive ups. We will ride one or more of the three downhill courses available if time permits. These trails are all singletrack and mostly downhill. They are fun and challenging for advanced MTB enthusiasts. We will finish by riding back to Seven Heaven’s Pension.

Note: If the drive up option is used an additional gasoline cost will be incurred and we will get maybe 2-4 runs in depending on time. If the ride up option is chosen then we will be only doing one run due to time constraints.
